The Annual Fun Run was held at the Orange Community Center. Many students and staff walked/ran around the track while others hiked the trails. For the past few months students have attended skating trips at the Milford Ice Arena. Students have practiced skating along the boards, skating in the middle of the ice, balancing to touch their knees and toes, and stopping. It may have been cold but everyone had a great time.

A group of students from the Orange campus traveled to the New Haven Museum to see the Amistad exhibity at City Hall. They learned the story of how the Amistad arrived in New Haven and the role the passengers played leading to the abolition of slavery in the United States.

Students from the High School and the Orange Campus had fun playing pool and air hockey at a local rec center. Later they headed over to the Foundation High School for pizza and a movie. Students from both campuses enjoy spending time together.

Amistad

The boys had an educational fun day. After lunch at McDonalds we headed over to the Long Wharf Pier in New Haven. The replica of the Amistad Schooner is docked there. We were able to have a crew member of the ship tell us about the history of the Amistad as well as answer students' questions. This was a great end to our study of the...
